First President of India to join Social networking site
- President of India Pranab Mukherjee is first serving president to join the social networking site Twitter.

Camel is declared as a state animal of Rajasthan
- The state government of Rajasthan has decided to declare camel as a state animal to prevent camel from slaughter, illegal trade and transportations.
- Camel is source of livelihood for maximum number of family in Rajasthan.
- The state government has announced that it will introduce the camel milk in the food security programme.
- Camel is also known as a “Ship of the desert”.
- Jaisalmer is the only district in Rajasthan which has increase in the population of camel from 2003-2008.
India became first country to ratify Marrakesh treaty
- India is the first country in the world to ratified Marrakesh treaty.
- The treaty was adopted by 79 member nations of the world Intellectual property organisation WIPO).
New vaccines added to India’s universal Immunization Programme (UIP)
- Government of India introduce four new vaccines to UIP.
- The vaccines will be against Rotavirus, Rubella and Polio.
- India’s UIP will provide free vaccines to the 13 fatal diseases to the 27million children’s.
- Oral polio vaccine will provide protection for population against poliovirus.
- UIP will introduce an adult vaccine against disease know as Japanese Encephalitis in 179 districts in nine states.
Pakistan approves the Protection bill 2014
- The Pakistan assembly approved the protection of Pakistan bill 2014 to protect the security borders of Pakistan.
- The approval of bill is important move in the military operation in North Waziristan.
Katra-Udhampur rail link
- Prime minister narendra modi inaugurated the new rail link between katra-udhampur which is 25m long rail line in Jammu.
RBI has eased norms for overseas investment
- To enhance the borrowing limit of Indian corporate the Reserve bank of India has relaxed the norms of overseas investment.
- RBI has slashed the overseas direct investment limit to 100% of a company’s net worth from 400% for all firms.
India has signed the Audio-Video co-production treaty with Canada
- India’s film industry Bollywood became 54th country to have an official audio-video production treaty with Canada.
- For Indian film industry, Indo-Canadian communities in Vancouver and Toronto are said to be main overseas markets. This treaty will allow the producers from both the countries to share the production of films and TV projects.
Appointment of new governors
- Dr Kamla Beniwal is appointed as a governor of Mizoram. She was a former governor of Gujarat.
- Margaret Alvas appointed as a governor of Goa.
- Shri V Purushothaman is appointed governor of Nagaland.
2014 women’s Wimbledon title
- Czech Petra Kvitova wins a women’s Wimbledon title against Canada’s Eugenie Bouchard.

India to become 3rd largest in economy by 2030
- According to the study conducted by Princewaterhouse Coopers (PwC), India will become the third largest economy by 2030.
- The rapid rise of young workforce would increase the Indian economy from current 10th largest in world in 2013 to become the third largest economy in world by 2030.
- China is expected to be the second largest economy in the world by 2030.

- UK is a third largest investor in India, the bilateral trade between India and UK stands at $15billion.

Implementations of scholarship schemes for minorities
- The ministry of minorities have implemented merit cum means based scholarship schemes for upliftment of minorities.
- Fellowship is granted to minority scholars to pursue higher and professional courses at M.Phil and Ph D level through Maulana Azad National Fellowship.
- The ministry started a “Nalanda” project for development of faculty of managed minorities’ institutions.

- World population day is observed across the world on July 11th.

India’s first indigenous warship delivered to Indian navy
- India’s first indigenous built warship is INS Kamorta is delivered to Indian navy by garden reach shipbuilders and engineers Ltd.
- The four corvettes is built by SAIL Bhilai steel plant.
6th BRICS Summit
- PM Narendra Modi first multilateral meeting will be interacting with other world leaders at BRICS summit.
- The BRICS summit will be held at the two cities of Fortaleza and Brasilia in Brazil.
- The outcome of the summit was establishment of new development bank on the lines of World Bank and Asian development bank.
RBI to set up Rural ATMs
- RBI has encouraged the banks to find out the solution to set up Rural ATMs.

Nagoya Protocol is ratified
- CoP-11 held at Hyderabad in 2014 and CoP-12 will be held at Pyeongchang, South Korea.
- Ratification of protocol by 51 parties is the first step towards the Global Aichi Biodiversity targets.
- 50 states and European Union have ratified it.
